It stars Tabu, Bobby Deol, Siddhant Karnick and Neha Sharma in pivotal roles while Rhea Chakraborty makes a special appearance. The film had its world premier at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2017. The film marks the directorial debut of Jaykumar Radhakrishnan who had previously served as an assistant director to Anurag Basu on Black Friday (2009) and Barfi! (2012). The film is a remake of the Malayalam blockbuster film "Kammatipaadam" (2013) and follows the story of a mother and daughter, who turns into an oil trader. The film starts with Chutki (Tabu), Radha (Sharma) and their son Abhay (Deol). At an age of 11 years, Abhay is diagnosed with diabetes. He undergoes a long surgery on his left foot, which was performed on him by Dr.Sarita Khurana (Neha Sharma). During his operation, the surgeon and her team found out that Abhay had two kidneys and two livers. Chutki and Radha are happy about their son's rare conditions, but they've also given up on the hope of having a doctor for Abhay. However, Sarita is not just an ordinary doctor but a doctor studying in the field of Chiranjeevi Saradara. After Abhay's operation, Chutki gets an oil tanker to transport vegetables that she sells with her friend Nirmala (Sharad Kelkar). Radha starts studying with the help of Nirmala and after she completes her medical degree, she becomes a doctor and meets Dr.Sarita and Goutam (Karnik), who works in Dr.Sarita's hospital. In her last days of college, Radha meets a girl named Rumi (Sharma) and they become best friends. They study together and graduate from the same college. Later on, they get married to Goutam and Abhay respectively. In the meantime, Sarita Khurana comes up with a plan to make a bone marrow transplant of Abhay's rare conditions. She needed a donor of same blood group as Abhay's rare conditions. Goutam is almost a perfect match of Abhay for his rare conditions but unfortunately, he had no blood group of AB+. Sarita then explains the reason of her plan to Chutki. In a flashback, it is shown that Abhay was brought up by his grandparents who were staunch devotees of God Ganesha. When Chutki and Radha were young, they lived in a village named ‘Kamatipaadam’ where the people there worship Ganesha and their god has a unique face of an Elephant with trunk on the head.
