The door has closed on a 53-year Stanley Cup championship drought; the season is over. There are about 700 business decisions to make in the next three months before the team goes on another extended playoff hiatus. On today’s Talk to the Star, we asked the Islanders president Robert Rattner, who has been with the team for 25 years, what questions he’s asked himself since June 15, when the team finally clinched its first Eastern Conference title. What are some of those questions? We’re going to ask him. Caller: The most important question I’ve asked myself: Who’s going to be the guy (managing general manager) next year? Rattner: I think it’s probably a good time to start thinking that way. Some of our best players are going to leave. Caller: Name names. Rattner: Well, I’d suggest the best name is going to be Mike Milbury, then it is going to be Scott Gordon. Caller: Do you sense there’s a change coming? Rattner: I think we’re going to get a lot of good ideas for next year. Caller: Are any of the players going to leave? Rattner: If you look at the role of Peter (Brunette) in the team, he’s still going to be a member of the organization. He’s now playing in Columbus. Dan Gartner, who I believe will be a serious candidate, will be playing in Houston. He’s now playing in North America. You can’t say we’re going to keep all our players now. We’re going to have a lot of good ideas that will come forward and we’re going to sort that out and it will help us make decisions next year. Caller: Look around at all the hockey people you see on TV, they’re all saying it What's New in the Photoshop EXpress?
